The other day Sony announced that it would reveal three games leading up to E3. One for Playstation 4 and Playstation VR, the next one for VR only, and the last game for Playstation 4.
Of those three games, Sony revealed their Playstation 4 and Playstation VR offering; Tetris Effect. Tetris Effect, as the name implies will rely heavily on the Harvard study that Tetris has on those subjected to it for extended periods of time. The beginning of the trailer actually does a pretty good job of explaining this concept without coming off as overwhelming.
Tetris Effect is being made by Tetsuya Mizuguchi, the man behind trippy hits such as Rez Infinite and Lumines. These games have a distinctive ,space-y feel that would be a joy to play in a Tetris environment.
It’s worth mentioning that the Playstation 4 version of this game will be playable in full HD, while those of you who have a Playstation 4 Pro will be able to trip out in full 4K at 60FPS. Judging by the trailer, the particle effects and explosions will look even better thanks to the power or the Playstation 4 Pro.
That 1% of you who are blessed enough to go to E3 will be able to get some hands on time with the game this next week. As for the rest of us, Sony is working out a demo before the game launches sometime this Fal
