Ubisoft has been teasing The Division 2 leading up to E3. They even went as far as letting certain influencers and media outlets aware of the reveal by sending them documents that seemed to be ripped from the game world, calling for all Agents to be reactivated.
The reveal starts off by stating we will no longer be holed up in the snowy landscapes of downtown New York City, but this time we will be exploring Washington D.C. in the dead of Summer.
According to the official write up on Ubisoft’s website, “Washington D.C. is on the brink of collapse. Lawlessness and instability threaten our society, and rumors of a coup in the capitol are only amplifying the chaos.” It seems this time around there will be more of a focus on figuring out how the government let this happen and taking out a possible coup with the US government and the True Sons.
And that leads me to my next point, the True Sons are a “group of paramilitary warlords bent on using their combat expertise and overwhelming firepower to dominate their enemies and expand their territory. Smart and organized, the True Sons are led by a former JTF officer whose ruthlessness and combat prowess make him and his combatants a horrifying force.”
There was also about 6 minutes of footage shown off during Microsoft’s E3 reveal, which shows us that this is more of the same gameplay from the first one, which is not a bad thing.
Also, if you head to Ubisoft’s website, you can pre-register to be invited to the beta. No details are available yet on when the beta may start. Their website also promises to update with more information when they are ready to reveal the more.
